About Roger A. Ritchie Sr.

Roger Ritchie, the founder and senior partner of the Ritchie Law Firm, grew up in the Shenandoah Valley and attended Broadway High School. After graduating, he attended the University of Maryland where he received his bachelor of arts in history, graduating cum laude. Roger then returned to Rockingham County where he spent three years teaching in the Elkton school district and coaching JV football.

In 1971, Roger attended the University of Maryland School of Law and received his law degree in 1975. After receiving his law degree, Roger returned to the Shenandoah Valley and began his law practice as a general practice attorney.

In the early 1990s, he shifted his practice solely to representing those who had been injured in accidents. This decision reflected his deep conviction that injured people deserve the same quality of legal representation that large insurance companies and corporations routinely enjoy.

Roger is a Certified Civil Trial Specialist with the National Board of Trial Advocacy — a distinction held by fewer than one percent of attorneys nationwide. This certification reflects his extensive trial experience and commitment to professional excellence in the courtroom.

Over his career, Roger has represented thousands of seriously injured clients throughout Virginia and West Virginia. His practice concentrates on automobile and tractor-trailer collisions, traumatic brain injuries, products liability, nursing home abuse, and complex litigation matters.

Roger's deep roots in the Shenandoah Valley — as a student, teacher, coach, and attorney — give him a unique understanding of the communities he serves and the people who live in them.

"Injured people deserve the same quality of legal representation that insurance companies and corporations enjoy."
